Thursday May 3rd - Begin FINAL PROJECT “Sketchbook/Journal” combination project in Illustrator

Thursday May 17th: Seniors final exam review DUE for those taking the exam. The exam review is OPTIONAL for seniors who are NOT required to take the exam. You may choose to complete this to raise your grade, otherwise you will be excused.

Friday, May 27th there will be a multiple choice and short answer quiz on BubbleScore over the Adobe Illustrator Program. We will begin preparing for an application test in Illustrator, the test will be given at the end of the "Cook & Draw" project.

1st: Use file in Read Drive "example for live trace". Open using Photoshop and follow directions above.
2nd: Open the file in the Read Drive called "Student Sketches" and find yours. Repeat the above directions!
Practice = smoother use of applications!!!

2.) Create Word Document with the RGB Color Codes for your Color Scheme
3.) Create Adobe Illustrator Artboard that is 16.667 inches x 6.25 inches. RGB Color Mode & 300 ppi.
4.) Create color swatches for this project and save as LastName_recipie.ai in your "Student Z-Drive"

So far in Adobe Illustrator we have labeled the tools in our workspace, created tutorials, and practiced some skill in follow along class sessions. Below is a running list of the skills you need to know how to demonstrate in illustrator along with the vocabulary to describe them.

Skills from Tutorial #1
1. Know what a vector image is...
2. What is rasterizing?
3. Know how and when to use the (white) direct selection arrow, and the (black) selection arrow.
4. Know how to "create outlines" on text

5. Know how to change the color of both fill and stroke independently.
6. Understand how to change the type/texture of a line or stroke using a variety of brushes
7. Be able to identify translucent and opaque strokes.
8. Be able to create a gradient using the gradient tool
9. Be able to "Blend" to create a 3D object.
10. Know where the 3D Effects tool is and what it is most compatible with.
