Web Design Article Assignments- 4th Quarter



The Assignment:
          Every week (see calendar below) students are required to do the following:     
          READ one of the articles relating to web design (linked below). This may be done when you are finished with your work in class, or as homework. You may print the articles and take them home to read if you prefer.
         SUMMERIZE the article in no less than 2 paragraphs. Do not merely restate the article- The summary should include the author’s main concern/ points.
       REFLECT in 1-2 paragraphs giving your opinion on the items you discussed in the summary. You may also discuss how you plan on using the information in your own design projects, how the information changes your perceptions, etc.
       CITE the source correctly. The student may use MLA or APA format. Please stay consistent within each assignment. You may use www.citationmachine.net for help.

Questions: Use Complete Sentences to Respond (BE CRITICAL!!!)

1. After reading the uie.com article, what type of "Visual First Impression" does your website send?
2. The article suggests that part of "scan-ability" is quickly gathering information in a natural order; the who, what, where, when and how much. List what the who, what, where, and when of your website.
3. After reading "25 Reasons Why I'll Leave Your Website in 10 Seconds, " what three of the listed items are you guilty of? Explain in detail!

Tuesday 2/21

1.     Create Classes Homepage (index) from template

2.     Choose the left aligned nav bar + header and footer

3.     Add Spry Menu

4.     Create spry tags/lables

5.     Create documents for each of the spry tags and connect

6.     Discuss what Goal Setting Is…

7.     Begin editing content for “Goal Setting”
